Log In Issues

Hi,

When I first purchased my DNS-320 I was able to see it on the network and access all of its shares (at the time I only had one). I have it configured as raid 1 and only use it as back up. I set up EASEUS and everything was working fine. I upgraded the firmware to 2.0 and now I cannot access it. I have also tried 2.1 and the latest version.
I would like to keep the latest firmware as I want to start using is for UPNP. I have tried setting up different user accounts on the 320 as well as my PC with no luck.

Running windows xp...any ideas???

Are you saying the the 320 has disappeared from your network or that it can still be seen in network neighbourhood but you can't access anything on it?

Can you access the web login screen?

Is it setup to have a fixed IP or does it get one assigned by DHCP?

Have you used a paper clip to push the reset button after the firmware update?

When we have answers to those questions we might be able to help.

Thanks for having interest in my issue.

The 320 is on my network. When i click on it the login screen appears but the password does not work. I have tried to set up different user accounts/shares on the 320 but cannot seem to figure out how to log in. Like I said, this used to work fine along with the Easeus back up.

The 320 has a fixed IP address.

I  can access the web login screen and am able to make changes etc.

I did push the reset button.

I believe the issue resides around the user accounts. Also, after the latest update my left HDD led no longer lights up but according to the web utility both hard drives are fine.

Have you tried to log in without a password?  You updated the firmware and I can't remember if it kept the password when I did that.

You can check settings from the web management screen under, management  -> account management -> network shares.

The 320 has a fixed IP address.

Stupid question but sometimes it's that simple : do the two devices have different IP addresses ?
