Can't get the DNS-320 to work on my Vista pc;
Using 2 times 2Tb drives, THOMSON ST780 Router, latest Firmware.
1) never have been able to access the NAS admin console via the ip-address of the NAS assigned by my router (timeout).
2) After setup (via Windows XP - see below) I managed to map network drives to the machine, however they are constantly disconnecting and more often than not the drive is not accesible. If it does work:
3) Long waiting for directory listings
4) Copying big files nearly impossible, first very slow and after few seconds / max 2 minutes the connection breaks and the copy action is aborted.
I did manage to setup the DNS-320 via another Windows XP netbook. There the admin console via the ip-address does work, and also the network connection seems to be stable.
Both my XP and Vista are pretty 'clean installs', nothing else going on except usual programs (browser, skype and AVG Anti-Virus).
Already tried several fixes from the interweb, but nothing worked so far. Any idea how to solve this (apparently Vista-specific) problem? Really wonder why I can access the machine's admin console via the ip-address on XP, but not on Vista.
