¨No Internet Access¨ Even though it state as connected.
« on: August 28, 2011, 05:31:11 PM »

For an intro, Dir 500 H/W C1, FW: 3.02.

For a body: I´m getting this annoying error that seems to fallow every-time I boot up the router after being shut off, for example, my supply (Electricity) doesn´t tend to be fluid around here so sometime the device need to be shut off (Constantly or 1 time in a daily basis) it is connected to an UPS though. After everything is up and running again I get the classic yellow sign on the tray-bar internet icon stating as connected but without Internet Access http://bit.ly/qqhvhs ¨here is a video¨, be LAN or WLAN, making me wonder where this problem is coming from.

With no way to access the internet when connected to the Dir-600, I go back using my primary router to and search for the problem, ending with nothing at hand but hard-resetting or plugging the power off kind of advises, e.g; The plug-ing off method seems not do the trick anymore, ending up only with the option of reset-ing the router to its factory status which is even more annoying to do every time I want it to function properly, Im almost forfeiting on dealing with it but wanted to say something and see if someone around here can help me.

Would be deeply greet´d with said help, thank you.

Ok, found a work around, since the Web-page for the router has some option to reboot or reset w/o needing to physically, I found that by rebooting it would then recognize the new assigned Ip given by the Thomson 536 router, not giving me the "Connected but not access to internet" Sign on the internet tray icon.

Acap for, if anyone happen through the same, Im pretty much set with the router, featured & Priced wise, my best acquisition so far.

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA-Personal. Auto TPIK and AES.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

If you have a setup where you have deactivate UPnP you might have run in to the same problem as I have in this thread http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=41813.0 it seems like UPnP will activated after a reset and power off/on even you have set it to deactivated....
