But the fan never stop. It spins permanently and very noisy.  :-[

I used 2.01 and now downgraded 2.00.

And I set the fan control setting as OFF/LOW/HIGH.

I wonder why temperature never dropped under 47°C although the fan spinned constantly.

My room is not hot and warm. and the HDDs'(WD20EARX x 2) temp is about 38~43°C.

The non-stop fan issue was addressed in one of the prior beta firmware releases. Not sure if this bug fix was included in the currently available beta or the recently removed beta version. In either case, D-Link did address this issue and we'll have to wait for a re-issuance of the pulled firmware.

Dlink seem very poor with their updates. It's definately put me off buying dlink in the future...

I am also having the loud fan noise problem it just wont be quiet I have to turn it off at night as it keeps my house mate awake in the other room!
Also speeds have dropped quite a bit. I am transferring a file now and it is only going 566KB/s.... On Gigabit Lan, even replaced the lan cable in hope that it would go faster with no luck.
Not sure why, maybe that might be a router thing as my samsung is having trouble streaming shows from it.

Hello

What I noticed with mine (2.0 final), if the bittorrent set to Enabled, the fan will run continuously (not on high, but still, it will never turn off) - even with nothing to download.
What I do to let it 'cool down' is I Disable the p2p in the Applications -> P2P -> Settings screen. Disable entirely, not by using the hourly scheduler
After a few minutes fan will stop.

Hope it works for you too
