Hello,

Is it possible to encrypt the NAS in a way that you have to put a hardware key (usb stick) in the NAS to gain access to the encrypted files in the storage ? Are there any other means to encrypt the storage with AES and keep it relatively simple and fast. I had a look at Truecrypt & ODIN encryption but i didn't find te USB hardware key possibilities ...

a few days ago a fellow countryman was visited by the government for 'uploading' a single album. They took all of his stuff and found a lot of downloaded music & movies. He was fined 65.000 euro as more then 50 music and other companies filed against him. This man was a simple labourer without proper legal support.

Never done it and do not see why it wouldn't work, I use Truecrypt, but only for sensitive data.. However, that will not stop prosecution, it all depends on the laws were you reside.

I also used Truecrypt to store sensitive files, just store the encrypted container on the NAS volume.
