oled screen died
« on: February 02, 2009, 10:34:14 PM »

Hello!

I just recently bought a dir-855 with the oled screen with all kinds of nifty info. The thing works like a charm and is fast as hell but unfortunately when i tried to check my network activity from the screen i couldn't get the oled screen to light up at all. I have tried rebooting and keeping it unplugged for a long time but i just cant get any response from it.. its totally silent. It's strange since i had not unplugged it after i got it.. only did the reboots from web-interface.

My specimen is only 2 weeks old so i was wondering if i should return it immediately without furher research.

Hardware version is A2 with an upgraded 1.12EU firmware (should not be related to the firmware so i posted this here :()

That sounds like an RMA to me. Please contact Tech Support. I noticed you're using EU firmware so if you're not located in the US you should contact D-Link tech support closest to you region.

So i filled in an helpdesk ticket at D-Link support and they got back to me in less then 2 weeks. I only needed to send a copy of my purchase receipt and D-Link sent me a new via mail :P no questions asked...

Let's hope it was just a faulty monday piece..
