email logs and dynamic DNS behavior
« on: December 22, 2011, 04:57:39 PM »

Just wondering if anyone else has seen the same behavior on their DIR-825:

When enabling the "email logs" feature, nothing ever gets sent, not on schedule or manually from the logs page itself when pressing the button "email now". There are no messages recorded in the system log to reflect any successes or failure for this either.

The same goes for the dynamic DNS feature---I have tried one of the built in providers as well as a custom provider (which works perfectly on the DIR-615 and 655) and nothing--it never changes from Disconnect to "Connecting" nor does it record any messages regarding failure or success in the system logs.

It is almost as if the router OS forgets or is unable to start the processes that are responsible for handling these two features.

I am using router Rev B with firmware 2.06NA and have reset the router to default settings with no change in behavior for these features. This is a big disappointment in the 825, since the 615 and 655 work perfectly in regards to these features.
Any ideas anyone?
