Problems connecting DIR 615 to AC Ryan Playon HD2
« on: December 30, 2011, 09:24:06 AM »

Hi all,

My system
PC connected to DIR 615 via ethernet cable on Win 7
DNS 320 also connected to DIR 615 via ethernet cable.

I have 2 laptops and an ipad connecting to the DIR 615 via wifi.
I have Network Magic 5.5 to monitor my network devices.

I just got AC Ryan PlayOn HD2 and I am have not been successful in connecting it via wifi. The AC Ryan can detect my SSID but unable to connect when I entered the password. I have done this countless times. Furthermore, I did a test connection at my brother's place. We swapped out his own AC Ryan Playon HD2 with mine. Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
Try with security turned OFF then back on.
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer to find out.
Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.
