Access configration pages via wireless
« on: January 09, 2012, 12:43:36 PM »

Please excuse me.  I have a DAP-1513 unit but there is no section for that unit on the forum.

This question can possibly also be for other DAP units:

Is is possible to access the configuration pages over the wireless connection.  After setting up access to the main router via WPS, I can access the configuration pages for a few minutes after I "power cycle" the unit.  Is this normal?

Should always be able to access the configuration page I believe. What mode is the DAP in? If bridged, might not beable too.

The DAP-1513 has only one mode.

I have installed the latest firmware "before" settting it up onto my network.  I have tried DHCP, Reserved DHCP address and static IP addresses.

Also, the DAP "disappears" from the "connected" devices list on my router but the connected TV and Blu-Ray have Internet accessability each.  Each have thier own IP address but mainly the Blu-Ray is listed on the connected device list.

Is the mode AP or bridged? If AP you should be able to get access to the web page at anytime.
is the IP address reserved on the host router or on the DAP for the DAPs IP address?

Please read my reply!

The DAP-1513 has only ONE mode.  I believe it is AP.

I tried DHCP, Reserved DHCP address and static IP address (IP stored in thr DAP-1513.)

This DAP is a fairly new product in the stores locally but has no support on D-Link's web site.  The registration system does not list this model.

I am again furstrated with D-Link.

Well from D-Links web site, this is a bridge device so I might presume that you need to get it set up and running first, then connect up any devices. I've heard that some bridge devices that sometimes the web pages are not longer accessible for some reason in bridge mode. Not sure if this happens with DAPs.
Can you ping the IP address of the DAP?

I would call DLink has support is listed on the NA web site.

I have the same problem with the DAP-1513 too.... I can't see the webpage when I connect wirelessly.  I haven't tried through a LAN connection yet.

I'm not sure if it's because I use a 10.0.1.* subnet and not the 192.168.0.* that it defaults too...

tpelle -- welcome.

Yes, you will need to either connect to LAN ports and set the Ethernet port of the PC to a  192.168.0.xx address or WPS connect to your router.
