How to replace a new hdd for RAID 1 if 1 hdd fails.

HI,

I have a intention to setup DNS 320 with 2 x 2TB running RAID 1.

This will do mirroring.

May I know if 1 hdd fails, what is required for me to replace the hdd and sync back the data?

Do i need to buy back the same hdd? Or a same size 2TB will do?

Just replace the failed disk and allow the 320 to rebuild the raid array.  Just remember that your RAID 1 is NOT a form of backup - it just covers you if a disk should fail - so you should have a regular backup strategy in place.
