Various DNS-323 Problem
« on: January 09, 2012, 06:00:22 AM »

Hi all.

I'm really frustrated with this machine, its behavior is really getting on my nerve.

I really need help.

I have enabled UPnP AV Server, problem is; sometimes it works, but most of the time my devices could not detect it, and sometimes when I'm able to detect the Media Server, I could browse all the files/media in it, but could not play the files e.g Photo and Video.

Next is when mapping the network drive on the PC, I need to login evertime I restart my computer, even though I have already check "Remember my Credentials".

Lastly; what is it with this machine? It seems its communicating on the internet by itself? No download, no torrent.

This is what I tried so far:

Reset the DNS-323 in its default factory setting
Revert from 1.08 Fimware to 1.07
Also tried disabling HDD Hibernation (for media server)

Latest firmware 1.10 resolved my UPnP AV issues.

Hi,
Regarding having to log on to the device every time.  The next time you try to access the NAS and you get the user / password popup, just leave it open and go to your Windows Credentials Manager (in W7 Control Panel anyway) and proceed to use the "add a Windows Credential".  Enter your information and then close out of the Control Panel and the popup window.  Try accessing the again....bet it works fine then.  I think this is a bug in W7 but in either case this works for me.  Good luck.
