Author Topic: Files and folders on share are writable only by the user that created it  (Read 2481 times)

We have several shares on our DNS-320 NAS, a couple of which are shared with multiple users. It appears that users who have read/write access to the share are able to create files and folders on the share, but those users do not have write access to files or folders created by another user.

All users with access to the share have both read/write access (i.e. there are no users who have read-only access), and all of those users belong to a group which itself has read/write access.

I have tried assigning read/write permissions just for individual users, just for the group, and both user and group. In all 3 setups the results are the same.

I have tried creating a brand new share to test on to make sure there is nothing special about the folders which already exist on the share, but the results are the same.

The NAS is a DNS-320 running v2.00 of the firmware. The client machines are Mac and Linux.

Is it not possible to keep everything created on a share writable by the group?
