Hi,
I live in Canada and I have Bell DSL internet. It's a Speedstream 5200 wired modem connected to a D-Link DIR-625 wireless N router revision A. The router has the latest firmware available, version 1.09, and other than MAC address filtering, the network is unsecured (I tried using WPA/WPA2 but ran into problems).
For the last few days now, the router keeps kicking computers/devices off the network. When accessing the router's log, it shows deauthentication for devices. It never used to do this. I did recently purchase a new laptop and add it to the network, but can't quite figure out of it's a coincidence, or if the new laptop is doing something the router doesn't like.
I have a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium x64, an HP laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium x64, a BlackBerry Pearl 9100 running OS 6, two second generation iPod touches (one runs iOS 3 and the other iOS 4), a Sony PlayStation 3 (the old one), an Xbox 360 Elite (the older model), a desktop running Windows XP Home SP3, and an iMac running OS X Lion. All devices are connected wirelessly through the D-Link router.
When the router fails (deauthenticates users), the resulting error usually claims either the DNS Server failed (the router acts as the DNS in the network), or the default gateway is not available (the router is acting as the gateway for the network) (these errors are according to the Windows 7 machines).
Does anybody have any ideas on what may be causing the problem?
