Stupidly mixed up power supplies - help!
« on: February 18, 2012, 03:30:22 AM »

On a recent house move the DNS 323 got separated from it's PSU :(

I have found two similar PSU's amongst my boxes unpacked so far.  Can someone please tell me if either is for the Dlink?

Details are:

Jentec Technology Ltd - outputs 5V 3A and 12V 3A

CD Coming Ltd - outputs 5V 2A and 12V  2A

Both are wired the same way...

Looking at 4 pin connector diagram

top left - 5V  Top right 12V

Bottom two pins Gnd

If either of these aren't the correct PSU then I have to do some more digging ;)

The manual is your friend.  On page 4 it says: Power Supply 12v 3A, 5v 3A.  The manufacturer does not matter, the output is what you are interested in.

I would diagree as the pin configuration is critical. I don' have mine handy, otherwise I'd be happy to answer the question.

Based on the information given by Alabama978, the 3A unit is the correct one - I also did a physical check of one of ours before I posted my first reply.

FWIW the PSU that came with my DNS323 is from Jentec and produces a 3A DC output

Many thanks to you all for the information :)

It seems the Jentec is the one.

I didn't want to try any until I had some info from the forum as I am not convinced that all manufacturers would use the same pinout.

As for the DNS it will be a test of my memory as I am not 100% sure about the pasword LOL.
