Setting Up Wireless Connection At Home
« on: February 14, 2012, 06:32:56 PM »

I purchased my Dir-655 over a year ago and used it exclusively for wired connections.  I just purchased a laptop and android cell phone, and now need the wireless connection.  When I attempt to connect my cell phone, my home Wi-Fi network is disabled, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK.  I printed the router's Device Information sheet and have the WEP and WPS numbers.  The password and WPS pin numbers I put in do not work.  Is there any way to either recover whatever numbers I need or start from scratch and re-install the router?

Configure the router from the routers web page at 192.168.0.1
Try single mode G or mixed G and N under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only.
Turn off Short GI, WPS, WLAN Partition and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

I do not remember the Pre-Shared Key which was originally set up.  Is there any way to start the process from scratch and set up another Pre-Shared Key (which I will definitely write down and save)?
