Xbox Live Party Chat
« on: January 24, 2012, 07:19:43 PM »

hello my hardware is a1 and 1.15 firmware. should i upgrade 1.21 for xbox live compatible

i been having issues with xbox live party chat and inviting friends in the game to be a host.

since i first had this router i didn't do any configuration at all and it was working fine.

our isp is xittel and uses wireless broadband technology. the modem model is 2400SM and we don't have access to it to configure it. i don't know if it's bridged or not.

why is it that i can't invite friends in the party chat that uses the same isp and i can invite random users.

i used to invite friends long time ago and now i can't. there is only 1 person that can invite his friends in town.

i know that upnp and gamefuel and firewall will conflict  if the two are in use.

if any experienced want to teamviewer i will be happy to get it looked at.

Keep the current version of FW thats loaded.

Need to review the Gaming, QoS and Gamefuel sticky for XBL to configure Gamefuel for use with XBL. This will help you get connected, host, chat and game.

How fast is the wireless ISP service you have UP and DOWN? Some wireless ISP are not good for gaming just FYI.

To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the 4500's web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.

Doesn't look like the modem is bridged. Might not be possible with your wireless.

Does the modem happen to have a DMZ by chance?

uPnP, Gamefuel and Firewall do not conflict if set up right.

However this maybe and issue with the ISP and type of service. Wireless ISP services can't provide a high speed thru put enough to handle gaming needs. Wireless has a latency when traveling from the receiving wireless tower and back to the wireless modem.

Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using teamviewer.

i don't have access to the modem because xittel might think i might screw up and needs reconfiguration. there is a guy that can access this but he won't give me the username or password.

i'll let someone review my router with teamviewer. just pm me for info.
