Hello,

I am not sure if this is the right place to post but here is my problem. Today I got the D-Link DIR-501 and installed it without problem. The things got bad when I realised that its admin panel (which you can access by typing your IP in the browser) interfere with XAMPP. The problem is that I cannot access my website via IP (only localhost) - it opens the admin panel. What should be set in order to avoid opening the panel? Currently I don't have the login details and respectivelly access to it since the router was set by my ISP.

Did you get this router from your ISP or did you buy it?

What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?
Default access to the routers login page is Admin and password is left blank. If they setup the PW, then you can try a factory reset of the router and this will put it back to defaults.


What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause Double NAT connection problems.
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.

Got it from my ISP today with predefined settings.

H/W Version: A2
F/W Version: 1.03EU
Region: Bulgaria
It came with custom username and password. I'll ask for them.

I am with cable (Cable > DIR-501 Router > PC LAN Card)

I presume you might need to set up Virtual Server or something like that for use with XAMPP. I would refer you to there web site for any router set up information and configuration using with there XAMPP application services.
