Raid 1 disc degraded, but nothing happens when I insert new HDD
« on: November 02, 2012, 05:49:55 PM »

Hi all,

Recently one of my Raid 1 HDDs degraded, but my problem now is that nothing happens when I insert new HDD.

The web UI prompts me to format the new disc as RAID 1, and that completed ok, however the rebuild screen doesn't materialize.  Under disk management it still tells me RAID 1 Degraded, and underneath, there is the option for Enable Auto Rebuild or Disable Auto Rebuild.  I have selected Disable auto rebuild, and subsequently clicked on Manually Rebuild Now, but the screen just refreshes and nothing happens and the Manually Rebuild Now button gets greyed out.

Any help? totally lost here.  Thanks.

anyone can help?  would have thought rebuilding a degraded array should be a simple plug and play issue, but doesn't seem to be in my case.
