A little help with my 615 rev E1, PLEASE!
« on: April 09, 2012, 11:16:19 AM »

I wish I could spend the appropriate amount of time to search for the answer myself, but I'm not able to use the internet at the house and I'm currently using my work computer.

What ISP Service do you have?  DSL through AT&T
What ISP Modem do you have?  Stand Alone modem
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?  Motorola 2210-02
What wireless modes are you using?  Mixed
Channel Width set for Auto:  20Mhz
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel:  Not sure what this means
What security mode are you using?  WPA-Personal.
What wireless devices do you have connected?  Laptop
Any cordless house phones? No
Any other WiFi routers in the area?  No
Turn off Short GI, WLAN Partition and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.  I will as soon as I get home

My issue and the reason why I flashed the f/w:

After 4months of owning the d-link I had to unplug it at least twice a day and even the modem at times.  I read numerous threads of people "saving" their dir-615 using DD-WRT and I looked into how to do it.  Kept a boatload of tabs open while doing the firmware update just in case.  Unfortunately I didn't have any threads open for what to do with it afterward...rookie mistake I suppose.

Here's what I have:

Dir-615 rev E1 that had the 5.0 F/W (office desktop connected to a motorola modem with AT&T dsl) and used the "DD-WRT v24 preSP2 [BETA] Build: 15778."  After flashing the router I was able to view the router settings through the dd-wrt info page.  So I know it took the firmware and it's not bricked, I can also use my laptop (in living room, wirelessly) to access the router info page.  Guess that means it's also sending out a wireless signal.

My problem is I can't connect to the internet on both the desktop and laptop.  I disconnect the ethernet cable from the D-Link router and plug it directly into the computer and it worked just fine. Tried to ping google and nothing, tried to ping a site at&t gave me and it dropped all packets with 100% loss, also did "ipconfig /all" and all the info matched.  I believe my status is connected and my network logo also shows I’m connected.  After a few hours of messing with it I’m not even able to connect to the internet when directly connected to my modem.  I contacted AT&T several times and was finally able to get my connection back only for a short period of time.

So between the router not actually connecting to the net and now no access through my modem, I’m pretty frustrated.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually if ANYONE is willing to call me and talk me through this, that would be effin awesome.  I'll PM my number to any and all who are willing to help.
Thank You

You need to refer to the WRT forums for questions related to the WRT loaded on this router. This forum is for routers loaded with OEM FW only.
