new WD caviar green 2tb hdd
« on: April 16, 2012, 03:24:08 PM »

Anybody have any experience with the new model of the WD Caviar Green 2TB hdd?

WDBAAY0020HNC-NRSN - http://store.westerndigital.com/store/wdus/en_US/DisplayProductDetailsPage/categoryID.13095400/subCategory.21536200/parid.13092500/catid.13094900

I'm currently running the WD20EADS, but it's becoming really slow and and unstable, but i can't find too many places that sell this model anymore.  Looking for a new 2 TB drive i can put in the new dns 323.

Thanks for the help!

Currently running two of these in a Raid-1 configuration for about a year now.
See http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=120

Needed to apply the most current firmware before installing:

CURRENT FIRMWARE INFO :
Current Firmware Version :  1.10
Firmware Date :  04/06/2011

This is what the DNS-232 reports:

PHYSICAL DISK INFO :
Slot Vendor Model Serial Number Size
-----------------------------------------------------------
Right WDC WD20EARS-22MVWB0 WD-WMAZA4775058 2000 G
Left WDC WD20EARS-22MVWB0 WD-WMAZA4754581 2000 G

Hope this helps...

I'm running one EADS and one EARS with no issues as standard format and firmware 1.10.  No issues for over a year.
