DHP-302
« on: July 15, 2013, 05:35:46 PM »

Hi everybody,

I have a pair of old DHP-302 adapters which served me great for years. But, since everything comes to an end, one by one adapters died! When first one died (a year ago, maybe more) I replaced it with DHP-309 adapter and that combo worked excellent too until today.
Today second DHP-302 model died too. Let me say that it's not a surprise for me since those little gadgets were on and working 24/7 for a couple of years.
What attracted my attention is fact that both adapters have the same symptoms. And those are: power LED is on green and home network LED is blinking red. Also I noticed that when home network LED is off, you can hear high pitch sound from the adapter.

So my question is, did anybody had such a problem and tried to solve it? Does maybe somebody have electrical schematics diagram of this adapter model so that I can try to fix it myself?
As a matter a fact, any kind of advice or help would be much appreciated! I have some experience in repairing electrical stuff so if I manage to repair at least one of the dead adapters I will be back online through my power outlet.

What can I say except thank you very much fro any kind of help!

Sincerely,

Hrvoje from Croatia

I would test units at a different location, say at friends place or families place to see if the problem follows.

Building power lines should be checked for line noise and proper voltages on the wall out lets.

Schematic information is not made public by D-Link and is proprietary information.

I recommend that you phone contact D-Link support for your region and inquire about testing and connections for these units.

Hi Furry,

Thank you very much for your suggestions and help!
In the meantime I fixed units myself by replacing (resoldering) two capacitors (1000uF) with new ones.
Since both units had same symptoms, now I have spare one!  :D
Maybe it will help someone in the future.

Thanx again!
