Just double-check that the HD is seated properly. Alternatively, you can try it in another PC to check it's not DOA.

Check your firmware version.
My DNS is Firmware 2.00(no bugs for me).
My 2 discs is 2 Tb - ST2000DM001

I had the same issue as TS, just that mine was a maxtor drive. I had a chat with DLink support from Singapore (I'm from malaysia) and he told me that my drive was not supported. I plonked in a WD Blue and the NAS ran fine without problems after that.

I too bought new drives - went with the 3TB Barracudas.
They did not work until I upgraded the firmware and opened port 80 on router.
Then everything worked fine until I installed a wireless printer.
Still working through issues...as I am a newbie at this...so relying on help from the group.

Question as I have only just got my 320 up and running. Have you tried turning off the firewall on your PC (I assume)?

I had what sounds like the same problem over the weekend. Turned out it HATES my firewall. Once I turned off the firewall the software ran like a dream. Formatted the new HD I had to get, then using the supplied software mounted the drive (Z).

Once I had done this I could access the drive and turn the firewall back on.

Now I have all my files on the NAS but (and I'm looking for an answer today) Windows media wont allow streaming access... Once of the reasons I bought the NAS.

Hope this helps
