Hi all,
I've spent several hours on the phone with technical support and they continue to hang up on me and not call back even though they have my phone number and swear they *will* call me back. Anyways...
I'm unsuccessfully trying to map out my DNS-321 to Windows XP and Windows 7 Home Premium computers over Samba. DNS-321 is connected over an ethernet cable while computers are connected via the local wireless network on a Linksys WRT150N.
Router config:
-Static IP address to ISP
-DHCP reservations set for DNS-321 and both computers.
-Easy Search Utility 4.8 (latest) is able to locate the DNS-321 to both machines.
-All computers and DNS-321 have ftp access enabled over Port 21.
DNS-321-Correctly sees the
DHCP reservation
-Latest 1.03 Firmware
Users/Groups include both computers.
SMB access is
enabled for both computers.
Ftp access is set to
Root directory for both users.
I'm able to see the device listed on the network, both from the Easy Searcg utility and from the My Network section of each pc. Windows 7 Home Premium will create a map to it, but the credentials will fail to automatically connect to the device. When I manually type them in it will connect, but the connection randomly drops during file transfers and will re-ask for my credentials. Windows XP, on the other hand, asks for credentials, the message disappears and I see "Volume_1" listed. When I click it I'm once again asked for my credentials ad nauseum.
