Using Win Vista Home Premium; DSM-750 with media located on a DNS-321.
It,s an all wired network.

The fast forward function works when accessing media via the extender and not media center.  I found others with this same problem and a home-made work around but will d-link be working on a fix for this?

Thanks

The FF works when playing the video from your PC and not when playing the same file from the DNS-321?

Are you using the DSM-750 as a MCE extender with your PC or using Windows Media Player 11?

ECF, here is a little more info on my situation:
I have tried numerous times and configurations but I cannot get Media Lounge to see the media folders I have on my DNS-321.  This commits me to using Windows Media Center (which is actually what I want) However, using the remote that came with the DSM-750 fast forward function does not work when using WMC.
I can however use media lounge with the media located on the computer hard drive going through Media Player interface and the FF function works.
The media on the 321 is shared media lounge still cannot see it.
The DSN-121 looks for/in a folder called “Media_SHARE”  I cannot find any folders with this string.
Does the DSM-750 look for a specifically named folder to work in Media Lounge?

Do these videos FF and RW if the files are located on your PC as opposed to the DNS-321 when using Windows Media Center?

ECF,  I have found that the only time FF and RW will work with media loaded on the DSN-321 is if it is the DVR-MS format via MCE. From what I have been reading this is an issue with MCE. I still cannot get Media Lounge to see the DSN-121 so I don't know if the same problem would exist.  I loaded an AVI to the computer and ran it using Media Lounge (which does see the shared WM folders on the server computer ony) via WMP and it worked fine. So to recap: I cannot get the DSM-750 to see the DSN-121 and run files via the Media Lounge. Using MCE it does see the DSN-121 but will not FF or REW unless its a DVR-MS format. I cannot get media lounge to find any files anywhere.  Its looking for a molder called "MEDA_Share" and I have no clue to its location. Sadly, my next step will be to format the  server computer, and reset both of my DSM-750's and start again fresh.

Does it look the the FF/RW function does not work only from you DNS-321 or is it the file itself. If you access the same files from the DNS-321 UPnP AV media server are you then able to FF/RW?

I'm pretty sure the fast FF problen is file type related. When playing a dvr-ms from either the Computer or DSN-121 it works. I still cannot get media lounge wo work "standalone" only going through WMP.

Thanks for all your support. I'm ashamed to say I did not have my DNS-121 configured correctly.  I do now and the Media Lounge is working fine for all functions.  The FF/RW problem is definately a media center thru extender problem, I'm not the only one with it and it seems to have been a problem for a long time.  I guess its a problem for Microsoft.  Anyway,  FF/RW works well in Media Lounge mode so I'm doing fine.

Thanks again

Is there any new trick to make FF/RW work on the extender mode? Or at least where can we change the default 30sec skip to something reasonable?
