As of Dec 31, 2012, some users have reported that there routers and possible other D-Link products have exhibited odd behavior or the inability to set or graduate the YEAR date to 2013. Some products have stalled or have not graduated to the new year, 2013. This seems to be due to the limitation of the firmware in the manual settings on the products web page. Usually found under TOOLS/TIME.
I have forwarded this onto D-Link and others have reported this as well to them.
They responded and recommend the following:
"We are currently working on the issue, for now, as a work around, we are suggesting for those customers that can, to set up NTP and move to that method of updating the time and date. Several F/W updates are coming and we should be able to move forward fixing this issue."
Most products have preset NTP server addresses that can be used and selected from the drop down menu when the NTP server check mark is enabled.
I believe that DST doesn't need to be set as the NTP server should automatically update the time depending on the Time Zone selected and when DST hits during the 2 times per year and for those regions who use DST.
If there are any problems with setting up NTP server options, please post in the product forums for you specific model and we'll try to help you out or phone contact your local D-Link support office and report the problem and request there help if needed.
Current effected known and LIVE supported products at this time are:
DIR-615, DIR-825 Rev B1, DAP-1360 Rev A, DAP-1533, DAP-2553, DIR-665
Any other effected products please post them and I'll add them to the list.
Products not effected and verified:
DIR-655 Rev B1, DIR-857, DIR-865L, DIR-657, DIR-645, DGL-4500
Any other non-effected products please post them and I'll add them to the list.
Thank you for your patience. If this issue is not resolved by a FW update, it's recommended that users change out the router for a new model router or a model router that is not effected by this issue.
Furry.
