3TB drives on 2.0
« on: January 09, 2012, 10:40:25 AM »

the 2.02 firmware "notes" say that 3TB drive support has been fixed.  However I'm seeing a lot of people on this forum having issues with 2.02.  What issues related to 3TB drives does 2.0 have?  should i just buy 2TB drives instead?

thanks

Bump.

I have the same question.

Are 3TB drives on v2.0 possible?

I just bought a 3TB drive and from the sound of some of the comments in the forums. The newer firmwares are all a mess!

I purchased the device along with a 3TB drive about 6 months ago.  When the device arrived I immediately upgraded to v2.02 and installed the drive.  All 3TB have been accessible with zero issue in standard mode.  Additionally, I added a second 3TB drive yesterday and the system automatically converted everything over to Raid 1 with zero issues (It took about 16 hours to replicate 1.5TB).

Edit: The drives are Western Digital WDEZ30RX "Green" drives.  I have no idea what the gigabit xfer rate is, but wireless-n gets me 3-5 MB/s which is sufficient for me.

So what is the issue with 2.02?

How are you using your NAS? Transferring large files back and forth? Or just holding files that you access every so often? How did you put files onto the drive?

It seems others are getting 0KB errors.

Is it an error that only some people are having?
It is circumstantial?

I don't want to stick in another drive to just lose all the data I put on it......

Beats me, I have no issues.

Bulk majority is large file storage (100+MB) which is accessed once in a while.  Files are added daily at a rate of nearly 4GB/day, and that will continue for about another 500 gigs and I anticipate a large slow-down so its more of a read-only device at that point.

Where you get the new software from?
On the D-Link home page (Asia) I found only 2.0
