UPNP
« on: July 16, 2009, 09:03:19 AM »

Maybe im not doing something right, but i have a question.

I enabled UPNP and updated to the latest beta firmware. I have a mapped drive to the NAS and when i double click on a video file in the mapped drive in windows media player it never seems to work. I have to copy the file to my desktop and play it. The same goes for my xbox 360. I can see the files but when i hit play they never seem to work. Something about losing connection to the NAS.

Any help would be awesome.

Thanks ???

It still doesnt work in winamp. It locks it up until it downloads the file locally. Do i need to change any of the settings? I have it enabled and looking a the root while the file files are located in different folders on the drive.

Ok lets forget about the pc. I didnt think it would require a pc to view anything on my 360. Does UPNP even work on the 321? How do i need to config my 360 to view videos from my 321? Do i need to do anything special on the 321?

Just enable the UPnP AV media server on the DNS-321

On your XBox does the DNS-321 show up as an available media server to connect to?

I stream audio and video's all day long to 4 XBox360s in my home and have no issue watching my collection of movies or music stored on my DNS-321. I run the beta code 1.03b07 and it works great.

Hi there, i have had the same issue. My unit shows up. but it wont stream the files. when they show. I add content and it will not show as available either. it will also lock up during playback of those files that do play. I am using the latest firmware. any clues? This happens with all connected devices, xbox, ps3 and windows vista PC
