What region are you located?

What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
Double NAT
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.

I am in the UK and using the BT Infinity VDSL modem (this is not a router).  The WAN IP is being set correctly to my external IP address (currently 86.185.145.23).

Good to know the stock FW is naff then! Do you happen to be having any issues with Xbox live too?Furry- could you PM brookheather with details of 102b08 for EU? I'm on my mobile atm, else I'll ping it over tomorrow morning.

I don't have an Xbox but my son runs a Minecraft server and the router started disconnecting once I had opened up the ports on the D-link router and his friends started playing.  So probably an issue caused by inbound traffic.

My BT Infinity broadband speed is around 72 Mbps download and 16 Mbps upload so potentially there is a lot of traffic going through the router firewall.

I will try the new beta firmware over the weekend.

Just a note: I tried both the 1.02B08 and 1.02B11 EU versions (last one is publicly available on the german FTP site: ftp://ftp.dlink.de/dir/dir-645/driver_software/), but my problems did not fully disappear...

As I read this thread, it seems to me that my problems are not caused by using the 645 as an AP...

Just to confirm- the issue i experienced that was *resolved* with the Beta FW was with regards to BT Infinity connectivity on the D-link DIR645 sitting in a "Busy..." state, and requiring a reboot to resolve.

If this isn't the behaviour you're seeing, then it sounds as though you may have a separate issue, that won't necessarily be resolved by a Beta FW.

At current; I'm re-testing my actual fibre connection (using the BT HomeHub3 atm) for issues, as it would appear that the XboxLive Disconnects still occur on that (albeit somewhat less frequently? Might be a fluke though!), and on my DIR-825 too (both with direct PPPoE and as a Gateway to the HH3); replaced the network cables and all. Something a bit fishy going on with the BT Fibre service potentially- most likely to do with the stupid traffic management system they seem to have become rather keen on (They know that encryption makes their well-spent money less-well-spent right?). I'm planning on discussing it further with the BT representative that i've been speaking to for the past three days or so, so i'll let you know what becomes of it - assuming you're having the same issue of course :D

Yes my issue is the frequent disconnect from the BT Infinity modem and it just showing "Busy..." when reconnecting.  Glad to hear the beta solved this for you - will try it myself tonight.

Right I've installed the beta firmware and cold booted the router - it is now connected and I will see whether it stays connected this weekend - if not then back to the HomeHub 3...

No this firmware doesn't work - after a few hours the router locked up completely - I couldn't access the control webpage at all.  I will have to go back to using the HomeHub 3 as a router instead.  Please let me know if there is a new firmware version that works.

@Support - is there anything else I can try to get this router working with BT Infinity?  Are there any newer firmware updates planned to be released?

I would contact your local regional DLink support office by phone, level 2 support and see if there is any information on this. Let us know what they say.
