I've been using my DI-624+ for more than 10 years and this unit would act as my alternate WiFi access point to my DIR-655 for guests/visitors.  I''m aware that it's already past its support but just inquiring if there are available B1 firmware (Southeast Asia) that can support date setting beyond 2013.   I'm using 2.10beta and if there are other recent update, please post its URL.  Thanks.

The 624 hasn't been developed on for year and I presume there probably won't be any forth coming updates. If your using the 624 as a wired AP only then date and time won't be needed and any client devices or router services should be gain from the main host router which should keep time and date and be accurate with the year.

Thanks for the response. Found out the F/W v2.08 for my rev. B2 is more stable in terms of connectivity, uPnP accessibility, remembering dates even after reboot, continuous connection for a long time unlink v2.10.

Glad the prior version works better.

At some point you may want to get into a newer generation router. As routers and WiFi develop, older routers and WiFi will be come less compatible and out of date. They should work ok however in todays Gb connection rates, older routers will be come a bottle neck in regards to operation and performance.

Thanks for the tips. Actually, the year 2013 onward problem that I decided to upgrade. What bothers me is why do firmware needs to be set until 2012 only. Knowing it would last long, the maker intended it to expire definitely.

Maybe there was a design that they didn't take into account. We've seen this with a few other model routers. Ya it's a shame that the FW can't be fixed. Just how some Mfr handle things. I presume that if it's used as a wired AP then time isn't a factor as Time should be gain from the main host router or web time services as there would be no need for Time while in this mode. Time is needed for main host router mode and any access rules and scheduling features.

Anyway thanks. Though it should consider that the time is the essence of everything. Y2K was long gone and being a developer also, don't know what's special for 2013 and onwards.
