Can't get internet connection with Galaxy Tab 2.
Got Ip-address from the router and Galaxy is pingable from another computer connected to router,
but no internet connection.
All other computers (3 laptops) on router have no problems.

Can anyone help ?

Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?

Some things to try:
Turn off ALL QoS or Disable Traffic Shaping (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.
Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking
.

Link>Wireless Installation Considerations
What wireless modes are you using? Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer to find out. How many?
Turn off WISH, and WPS under Advanced.
Try turning off Short GI, WLAN Partition, and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

Sorry for the late reply. (Vacation)
Tried all your suggestions; still no internet.
Hardware version = A1 Firmware=1.01

I do get an ipaddress on the Galaxy and I'm able to ping to it from a PC,
but when I try to connect with my browser on the galaxy it can not connect to any site.

Galaxy tab is aible to connect to another router and works fine then.

Anymore suggestions to fix this on DIR-645 ?

Many thanks in advance

What region are you located?
As a test, turn off security on the WiFi and open it up. Does the Galaxy connect and able to get traffic from the Internet? Ensure the Galaxy is obtaining an IP address automatically, don't use static IP addressing on the device.

We might try v1.02 FW as well if this test doesn't work out.

I'm located in The Netherlands.
Like I already stated, i'm getting an IP address (from the router).
This address is pingable from another computer in the network, but I can not get any connection
to internetsites.
Should I try v1.02 FW  ?

Seems like this is a possible Galaxy issue. Specially if you get to internet sites with other PCs and devices.
Does the galaxy connect to other routers, say if you went to a friends or families place? Does it work there on there WiFi?

Well I see there isn't any v1.02 on the DLink NL web site however the tsd.dlink.com.tw has a WW version:
Firmware:DIR-645_A1_FW: v1.02b08 (for WW)
You could try that and see.

If you decide to try it, please follow the FW Update Process. I would Update and don't even set up the SSID or PW, leave it off, just get the router connected to your ISP Modem, check internet connection with a PC, then if your good, try to connect the Galaxy to the default SSID of dlink and it shouldn't have a password. Will the Galaxy connect and get to internet sites then?

If after this the galaxy fails to connect to internet sites, I would phone your local regional DLink support office, level 2 if you can and see if there is any help.

I would go to the store that has a good refund policy and buy a different router just to test and see if the galaxy does the same thing or not. Then return the other router after the test.

 :)Joy :)
Did the firmware upgrade to 1.02
FYI all setting will be kept when upgrading firmware.
Did not change anything in the settings
Works fine now for laptops AND Galaxy Tab2

Many thanks for your support FurryNutz !!!
