The default login doesn't work on a newly bought 325
« on: August 05, 2012, 10:26:54 AM »

Hello,

I bought a DNS-325 lately, then this week end I have decided to install it.
I have followed the installation procedure from the guide.

my architecture is :
an adsl router with 4 ethernet ports.
a laptop on a port
the DNS-325 on a port
that's all. not any more equipement plugged in the router.

first, the wizard can't detect my D-link altough it has an IP delivered by dhcp.
the D-link Storage utility can detect it.
When I click on 'configuration' the login page for the D-link opens normally, but after I am stopped.
I let the account on system administrator, I let the password field empty and the page display a "You entered an incorrect login name or password. Please try again.'

I did some attempts with ssh, without ssh, without password, with some passwords (admin, Password ....)
nothing works.

I don't know if it is possible to connect first by web without change the password before as on certain equipements.

Try resetting the DNS-325 to the factory default settings. While the DNS-325 is powered up, press and hold the "Reset" button on the rear of the unit for >8 seconds. This procedure will erase all user settings, but will not impact your HDD configuration or data.

After the reset, open the web interface page and try the default username and password:

  • Username: Admin
  • Password: [blank]
