DWL-G700AP
« on: July 02, 2012, 04:08:22 PM »

Hi
I didn't see a category for this product so I am posting here. I wanna ask you. I have this Access Point and when I turn on the DHCP server I can access to LAN network, but I can't access to WAN.
Do you know where could be the problem?

Might be in configuration.
Need some information here...
How do you have it set up? Wired to a host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
If your using it as an AP, I presume you don't need the DHCP services if your using a host router to get IPs and Internet from.
Can you draw us a diagram of how your system is set up? ISP Modem>Make and model host router><DWL and other devices?

So the diagram of my network looks like this
http://www.gliffy.com/go/publish/3766098/
The network works fine for now, but my mom's laptop has a weird IP address. The settings of D-Link router is absolutely default. (SSID - default. Pass - none). When I changed SSID all the clients got a weird IP address. I wasn't able to find anyone else on LAN network, but now I can see everyone. How could I configure it and turn on the DHCP client?

WOW, looks like the DWL is is some passive mode and is passing along public IP addresses and not private ones, i.e. 192.168. I think you need to maybe do a factory reset of the DWL so you can get a private IP address on the WLAN side of the DWL. Set up the DWL from scatch again. Is the DHCP server running?

I would review some FAQs about it here:

I did the factory restart now. The DHCP is turned off because everytime I turn it on everyone can access only to LAN network and not to the WAN. I've tried to change the IP address of D-Link on 192.168.100.50 (for ex.) and setup the DHCP for 192.168.100.100 - 100.200 but the WAN connection worked only for me and not for my friends. Fu*k. I'm drunk. I'll look on it 2morrow :D

I would review the user manual too and see if there is settings to configure. Good luck.
