Question on security
« on: August 18, 2012, 09:38:00 PM »

I set the router DHCP to go from .100 to .102 since I only have 3 things in the house accessing my router.

I've reserved IP's by MAC address for the three devices.

Let's say when we're not at home my Girlfriends Daughter comes into our bedroom and unplugs the ethernet cable from one of our machines and plugs her computer in.

Will her computer be on the internet or will the router not allow it since?

You are correct. If all three IP addresses in that range have been reserved for specific MAC addresses, your router will not have any left over addresses to assign. Her computer won't automatically receive an IP address or have internet access.

However, if she's tricky, she could work around that by assigning herself an IP address manually or "spoof" the MAC address of one of your PCs.

of course you allow here to come over and allow her device on the network and add it. You could setup a schedule for her if you wanted too.  ;)

yuppiecide where have you been. You're too much.

I recommend you unplug the router and take it with you whenever you leave your bedroom. You do leave the bedroom don't you?
