Data recovery

Hi folks,

I transferred about 200GB of photos onto my DNS-345 two nights ago. This included various iPhoto libraries.

After transferring, I opened the iPhoto libraries to check that all was working fine and everything had been transferred.

This morning, the entire folder is gone. All 200GB of files. Disappeared.  ???
Scandisk found no errors.

The files don't appear anywhere - not via Finder/Explorer, on the web interface's file directory or on the myCloud thingy. (I have seen errors in the past where, for some reason, some directories didn't appear in Finder but are actually present in the web interface, hence my checking that).

So it seems that my data is gone.

I have an older backup (about a month old), but I'd prefer not to have lost the last month's worth of photos.

Does anyone know how I should go about attempting to recover the data?

Thanks in advance,
David

Nevermind.
Turns out I put the files on a different share on the DNS.
<facepalm>

That said, the best option I could figure out was to run a USB-bootable copy of Ubuntu with one of the HDDs from the NAS put into a PC and use a Linux data recovery program... in case anyone else was wondering about a possible solution.
