I want to be able to remotely access documents and other content on either the SD card or the external hard drive on the Internet from a different city from where I live. Can I do this with the DIR-857 router? Can I do this using MyDLink?

The 857 has the following options that should allow remote access:
HTTP STORAGE
Enable Web File Access :     
Enable HTTP Storage Remote Access :     
Remote Access Port :       
Enable HTTPS Storage Remote Access :     
Remote HTTPS Port :       

Not sure about MyDlink though. I presume it may not as the Amplifi line of routers do not have any Cloud support.

Any forum icons and avatars are allowed as long and they violate D-Link forum policy.
