SOLVED: Constantly Syncing hard drive data.
« on: August 01, 2012, 01:03:51 PM »

I originally had a 1.5tb and 2tb drive installed as RAID1. The 1.5 is now gone and been replaced witha 2tb. I know that I will need to wipe and redo the RAID to use the full 2tb. However as a temp measure I let it rebuild the RAID. I can't stop it. It has be rebuilding constantly for the last week. It has completed but seems to start again.

Everytime I try to go on Disk Managment to try and redo the RAID it will be "HDD Data is Syncing now" at whatever %.

Basically I think I want to start again from fresh. I have made a copy of all the data. so worries there. Just need top be able to get in and redo it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Just thought I would add that I have now solved the problem. It seems that my other 2tb drive the problem. I decided to run smart check on it and it failed. I took the drive out, put in in the PC and run WD diagnostic on it and it failed.

I got a brand new WD green drive and the auto-rebuild / HDD sync worked perfectly.
