My DNS-321 Failed after the NYC blackout. It must have shorted out.
So I have ordered a DNS-325.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I am still without power in Manhattan (as of 11/4), one of the last complexes still without power on the East side. Although I powered down my two DNS-343s before the mandatory evacuation (I still have yet to go back), I'm fearful of potential surge damage when they re-engergize our complex.
Will I be able to load and read my mirrored disks from my DNS-321 without having to rebuild the disks?
Are there instructions available on how to do this without having the new DNS-325 setup wiping out the disks?
Here's the closest I can come to offering an answer: Due to changes in the file systems, the DNS-320 can
only directly read DNS-323 HDDs configured as "Standard Volumes". The DNS-320 is in the immediate family as the DNS-325 and shares similar (if not identical) formatting schemas; while the DNS-323 is somewhat closer in age to the DNS-321 (the DNS-321 is older and may diverge from the DNS-323 in the way of HDD formatting).
