Problem starting DNS 320L
« on: August 12, 2014, 09:08:48 AM »

I have bought a ShareCenter DNS-320L in January 2013, with a 1 Tb Hard disk (Western Digital Red Desktop). It has always worked well, even if I've already had some configuration problems, but I always solved them. Six months ago, I have connected it to a WD TV Live to view films directly through UpNP, and everything was OK.

However, this week-end, I had to shut down every electric device, and now when I start the ShareCenter, the power on/off keeps blinking blue. I have tried to reinitialize it, to change the location of the hard disk from right to left, to connect the ShareCenter to my laptop with the installation DVD ... Nothing changes. The power light is blinking blue and there is no light on the HDD on/off. However, the modem light from which it is connected is on as soon as I switch on the power button of the ShareCenter. It is then well connected to the modem.

My questions are:
- How can I fix the problem? All data on the hard disk is on my laptop. I can then format it without any problem.
- Can it be a problem with the hard disk and not with the ShareCenter itself?

Thank you!

Connect the harddrive to your pc and run Hard Disk Sentinel Pro portable.

Hdsentinel.com - see if it makes any warnings about the hdd health.
