shareport does not work when dir-825 is in bridging mode
« on: February 17, 2013, 12:45:50 AM »

Hi all, I realised that when I connect dir825 on bridging mode to my current voip router provided by my ISP (dvg-n5402) , shareport does not work as it seems to be using the default gateway to find the usb, which in this case default gateway goes to the gateway of my voip router.

Is there any way that I can make shareport use the gateway of my dir825 instead?

Also, what is the latest WW firmware and where can I download it? Thanks and cheers.

Link>Welcome!
What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?

What SP version are you using?

I'm using hardware B1.

Actually I just loaded 2.06WW in it and I think that's the latest.

I'm using shareport 1.17. Basically shareport works if I only have DIR-825 whether on LAN or wireless. But once I attach it to the voip router, my shareport stops working.

From your link provided, it seems that I am not doing bridging/relay? Then what am I doing? Cause what I did was to pass on my wireless interface to DIR-825 instead. I turned off wlan on my voip router.

How is your set up connected and what does it look like? Recommended connection should look like this: ISP modem>Wired to main host router>Wired to LAN port on 825 running in AP mode.

I'm using shareport 1.17. Basically shareport works if I only have DIR-825 whether on LAN or wireless. But once I attach it to the voip router, my shareport stops working. Does using v4 of SP work? No. I tried v4 of SP does not work at all. One thing I have noticed is that when I connect directly via cable, I can get my 1.17SP to work even if the default gateway is not to DIR-825. Even if I change the default gateway to DIR-825, I still can't get SP to work on wifi.

From your link provided, it seems that I am not doing bridging/relay? Then what am I doing? The only mode that works on this router would be a wired AP mode operation.Cause what I did was to pass on my wireless interface to DIR-825 instead. I turned off wlan on my voip router.
How is your set up connected and what does it look like? Recommended connection should look like this: ISP modem>Wired to main host router>Wired to LAN port on 825 running in AP mode. My set up is like this. ONT(optical network terminal>fibre box>voip router provided by ISP>DIR-825 (lan port 1 to lan port 1). All are in direct wired connection.

So I think I found out the problem. It is that shareport does not work in wifi, whether it is v1.17 or the new v4

I recommend that you phone contact DLink support for your region, ask for level 2 or higher support and see if they can help figure this out.
