I am stuck in a weird situation.

In my device I am able to browse through & connect to my HOME wifi network ; But after connecting it says 'No Internet Access'.

I tried connecting with my SONY Bluray , iphone , ipad , laptops -- everywhere same story.

I am able to plug in the ethernet cable directly from modem & able to connect to network.

I am not able to open the http://192.168.0.1 -- ( When I am plugged in the modem directly)

Following are my router details

Can some one please help ?

What region are you located?
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
Has a Factory Reset been performed?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
Double NAT
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.
Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask.

When you are connected to the 601, review the Status/Device Info/WAN section on the router web page, does it show the IP address or WAN IP and DNS addresses getting any thing?

My responses below - please help

What region are you located? - Located in USA , Southern California - Torrance
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router? - Wireless. Even when I was wired I was not able to access the dlinkrouter site
Has a Factory Reset been performed? - I did press the Reset hole in the Router.

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL? - I think cable. There is a white color coaxial cable I need to screw on to Modem.
What ISP Modem make and model do you have? MOTOROLA SUrfboard - SB5101U

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic. Reboot the PC to make sure any networking and addressing information is updated.

Temporarily dis-connect the LAN cable from the ISP modem from the 601 router. Only using the PC, connect to the 601 router using the LAN cable. Try a different port.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

Check your network settings on the PC, there is a status page if you can find the Change Adapter Settings option. Right click on the network adapter and then left click on Status. We need to check to see if your network adapter is getting a 192.168.0.# address. If not, there is something wrong either with the router, the lan cable between the router and PC or the configuration.

I am able access wi-fi even in iphone/ ipad or sony blu ray player. So I think this might not be an anti virus firewall.

I was able to access the Router home page in wireless mode. Following is the status

In it the network status is Disconnected. Do you know the way to change the status to connected ?

Another update - IP Address says static. remember you said to change that to Dynamic. Could that be a reason why this is not connecting to internet ?

It will be great if you can let know how to change this to dynamic ?

Possible yes...need to make sure the client(s) are dynamic. If you want to ensure that each device gets it's down IP address and when you can get into the routers web page, go under Setup/Networking and set a reservation for each device. This helps in troubleshooting, and each device will get the same IP address each time they are connected and avoids conflicts.

Seems like the router is not getting and IP and DNS addresses from the ISP modem,

Do this first. Turn OFF the router, then turn OFF the ISP modem for 15 seconds, then turn back on. Let it sync for about 15-30 seconds. Then turn on the 601 router. Let it attempt to connect. The Amber globe should blink a few time then turn green. Keep looking at the Status page to see if the WAN IP address updates by refreshing the browser page.

I did exactly waht you said --

But the globe amber light did not come up in the router. It is not green also. It is not lit.

Other than the power light, only other indicator that is blinking is the 3 arcs ( indicating wifi signal).

I think this is the reason why I am able to see the network in my PC, but when I connect it says 'No Internet Access'.

Please let me know what you think & how I can make the globe amber green ?

Is this the end of the router ? When does that the globe light stop working ?

Do we need to update the firmware etc ?

Do you have a spare cable by chance you can swap in? If you do, again turn off both, swap cables, turn on ISP modem first then 601 router. If the amber globe fails to blink at all, possible this router could be bad.   I don't think it's a modem issue since you can directly connect to the ISP modem. WE could attempt a FW update however not sure if that would do anything...Might be worth a try.

After the cable swap, wi-fi started working !

Luckily I had a new cable.

I still could not understand , how cable could be a problem. But somehow my problem is solved. Thanks
