Do I need to format drive when configuring for RAID 1
« on: March 10, 2013, 04:12:10 AM »

Hello,

I have just added an additional hard drive to the 320L. The first drive already contains data, the second has been formatted to ext4.

I wanna set the disks up to run with RAID1 - to mirror the drives for failover. Is it required - or will the process - process reformat both drives? I dont wanna loose al the data which I have on the primary drive, as well not so keen on copying 2tb to a temporary drive...

Or can it be configured without touching the data on the primary drive, e.g can someone point me to the instructions on how to do it?

Thanks, K

DNS ShareCenter - Standard Volume to RAID-1 Conversion

the second half of this procedure applies to your scenario.
Please make sure you have a full backup of your data before attempting the referenced procedure.
