Motion Detecting "sensitivity and %"
« on: March 18, 2013, 08:53:24 PM »

5222L simply states, "Sensitivity:  Set the sensitivity of camera to trigger motion detection. High sensitivity makes the motions easier to be detected."

2132L/2230: Sensitivity: Sets the sensitivity for motion detection. The text field indicate the level of sensitivity for motion detection. As motion is detected the level will rise depending on the frequency of the movement.

Percentage: Adjusting the percentage allows you to set a requirement on how much of the motion window must be filled by movement. Example: If you set this to 50%, then the selected window must be half filled by a moving object before it triggers motion detection.

The "Sensitivity" definitions are contradictory ? No?.... Are they that different between cameras?

So 5222L should use 95%, while 2132L/2230 would be 5%?

I guess I am confused.  I understand the 2132L/2230 definition to mean that "as action happens, the % builds", therefore set your threshold.  On the 5222L, they are saying the opposite???

On 5222L there is no Percentage Option.

I haven't tested motion detection on the 5222L, I'm pretty happy with PIR not detecting party cloudy days....

So which is it?... As I've read else where or here, it's obvious different developers worked on these...

After playing around, I've found out that

1) I had recording set via mydlink.com, and worked great for FTP to my local drive attached to my router... 100 files a day...
2) Adding SD recording caused lag...
2.5) disabled mydlink.com setting, reset everything up in camera settings, and I'm totally lost...
3) Downloading SD recordings while viewing through mydlink app on local network while sd recording = severe slow.

The 2132L can't keep up under load... even with recording set to "3 seconds before event".... if recording to SD... I need 6 seconds before event....

The sensitivity for the 2132L - if I set to 90% sensitivity and 1% area = it looks like I overload the FTP server and get bad files.
