DNS-320 from pixmania.com
« on: April 18, 2013, 04:41:52 AM »

Hello,

I bought recently the DNS-320 on  pixmania.com
What is interesting:
- NAS has body from the DNS-320L
- Hardware is from the DNS-320
- Firmware is 1.0b (?)

Any attempt to upgrade the firmware to the latest version 2.x - fails. There is an error after loading the firmware to the NAS.

Can I ask you if that's okay?
Which firmware version is in my device?
What kind of equipment is it? (hardware from 320 and body from 320L).
Where can I find a compatible firmware for this device?

Thank you in advance for your help.
Best Regards,

Daniel

I doubt DNS-320 board will fit into DNS-320L casing given that the latter has a smaller built. How did you determine the hardware is from DNS-320?

I think I was imprecisely - hardware is the same as the DNS-320.
I mean - the same is processor (CPU clock) and RAM (128MB).

However, the body is from DNS-320L - the USB port is on the back, but the "horizontal bar" is not silver but black.

If I'm not wrong, your DNS-320 hardware is revision B1 and the latest firmware is 1.00b03. Thus the board used is not the same one from revision A which has the USB port in the front.

BTW, do you have picture of the circuit board?

Sorry for the lack of pictures. But I can confirm - it is actually B1 revision of the device.

As for the firmware - I have downloaded version you specified in one of your posts (and which is officially the latest version - by dlink.fr) and installed it in the NAS. The result - it turned out that I did downgrade of the firmware...

I used to have (originally uploaded):

07/12/2012

now I have:

04/26/2012

So, it was a downgrade... :-(
Now I can not find the newer version, which I originally had.

BTW, one problem still exists for me - I can not save configuration - configs file has 0 bytes. :-(
(ffp & debian are switched off)

Sorry to hear that. What was your original firmware version before the upgrade? And what version does it display after the upgrade?

You might want to check with your local D-Link support and request for the latest release.

Try saving the configuration file using a different browser. For example, some D-Link routers have issues properly saving configuration setting files using Firefox.

@ albert:
Originally it was version: 1.00 of 07/12/2012
Currently I have version: 1.00 of 04/26/2012
The device works and it is most important :-)
I don't think, that Polish service will have the firmware to the hardware which is dedicated to French market...
I'll wait for new firmware on official page.

@ JavaLawyer:
Thank you very much for your advice - it is possible. In the evening, will arrange test in IE and FF (so far have tested only in Chrome).
