Using DIR-645 as a Bridge to Lan Devices
« on: April 04, 2012, 02:45:50 PM »

Hi all,

First time post yayyy...

Well I just wanted to know if anyone has managed to setup a bridge to Lan devices.
Here's my current setup.

I have a active internet line that connects to a pfSense Firewall Router.

The pfSense will act as the DHCP server. Directly from the pfSense there's a Netgear switch with the DIR-645 connected.

I have disabled the DHCP server on the DIR-645 in hopes that my pfSense Router would assign IP's but to no avail :(.

I just wanted to know if there was any particular setting I could apply to get this working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using LAN to LAN connections?
Bridge mode is not supported on these routers.

I just bought one of these wireless routers and hadn't considered that you couldn't set them up in bridged mode. I read the link at http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=50738.msg188443#msg188443 and found it all pretty confusing.

The original poster never came back to say what he did to solve his issue. Does anyone know how to set this device up so that it's not doing any DHCP etc? I just want my wireless devices to connect through this router out to my switch and then the internet through my Smoothwall server (pretty much like the OP except I'm using Smoothwall instead of pfSense).
