Large Mac backup issue
« on: August 06, 2013, 08:28:02 AM »

Hello
I need to copy/backup my Mac hard drive on the 325 NAS (with a WD 3 Tb drive). I tried direct drag and drop, Carbon Copy Cloner, ftp... every way has issue and the copy isn't complete.
I don't want to backup/clone the boot partition, just files/folders HD. It is about 400 gb.
The only way which seems to be complete is creating a disk image on NAS, but this is not accessible on the lan by PC. I
How to?

it is a Mac Pro with 10.6.8 system.

Are you able to successfully drag/drop any files (of any size) from your Mac to the DNS-325 or do all copies fail?

Yes I can, but if I drag all the drive folders it doesn't copy all. A lot of folders result empty.

I'm going to give a chance to Time Machine now.
