Did the factory reset and then re did the firmware and still no luck. Same issues as before. Config times out. I even noticed one time that it gave me a comcast ip through the router which is messed up. It should have given me a 192.

Well up to you, I would probably return the 5500 to place of purchase for another one to test. Seems that your unit could be just bad all around. If other routers are working for you and other users here in the forums are working for them with the 5500, then just point to yours being bad.
