Hi,

I have a 645.  HW: A1, FW: 1.01.  Every 2 weeks or so, I'm not really sure, the 645 will not alow mounting of the attached USB hard drive.

I'm running unix, so I can't use the sharing utility.  Don't really need it.  Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact error, but it is something like:

smb_mount: Cant allocate memory

When it happens again, I'll post the exact error.

The fix is to reboot the 645, which I did yesterday, and all is well.  There is no internet access for this 645, It's purely used as a sharing device.  My neighbour who uses windows, also gets a similar memory error when trying to mount the drive.

I haven't seen any fixes for this type of issue in FW 1.04, but I'm going to apply it at the next opportunity.

It should be fairly simple to reproduce.

Well, it's offline again.  Took 26 days to become unavailable.  A reboot has fixed it.  The errors are as follows:

Windows:

T: is not accessible.

Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

For the share mapped as T: drive, of course.

Unix:

mount_smbfs: unable to open connection: syserr = Cannot allocate memory

The next time it happens, I'll upgrade the firmware, but I don't think that will help.  Reminds me of friends telling me that they have to reboot their ADSL modem every 2 months or so.  This sounds like the same issue.

Do you think I should open a case with D-Link ?

Happens if you load v1.04 FW?
