Connect Samsung Smart TV with DLNA
« on: August 29, 2013, 02:07:13 PM »

HI to everyone. First of all I have to say that I am not an expert at all and I need some help.
I have already installed my new DNS-325 and everything is ok when I am using computers at home.
Now , I would like to conect my Smart TV to the network drive, but I do not how to do it.
On the TV I can find the allsare connections, but I cannot see the IP of my network drive.
What I have to do? Because I cannot put the  IP Address manually.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Once I solve this problem, the second step will be the conexion out of my home, but this will be the second chapter.

Thanks in advance for your help

have you enabled the UPnP AV Server?
Check under :
Management-Application Management-UPnP AV Server Settings-Enable

Thanks a lot Paolo !

Now I can see the device on the TV , but appears 3 folders: Photo, Music and Video, and altough I have pictures in my DNS I cannot see them. I have created a folder with the name "photo" and put the jpg there, but still any file appears on the TV.

Problem 1 solved, and now problem 2. :-)

Thanks in advance for your help.

The first selection is just a filter for the contents made by TV Samsung. If you want to see only photos select photo, then select folder, then volume_1 and then the folder were you put the photos.
For Video (films) follow the same procedure but you will see only files belong to video category

Hello,

I have a new DNS 325 and Samsung TV ES8000.
I don't arrive to connect my DNS to TV.
UNP server is OK, IP group it's the same. I have test with software samsung and mys PC and it's ok, but DNS is not found by TV. For this function firmware it's ufficient or I must install fun plug with dlna software ?

Best

It's ok, I see dlink. But I have same problem jnc68. I don't understand what using the photos folders, because it's not possible to see these on TV directly ?

Exactly.
Now I can see the device but when I click Photo nothing appears. The same for video and music.
I have also a LG TV and I can see the files there and not with the Samsung.

Thanks to everybody for you help.

This day I have ask questions to dlink technician. And he says, DLNA protocol is perhaps not the same excatly to DNS and Samsung TV...
No many solutions for this time.
It's possible with fun_plug, but I'me sure to test it.

I did'nt install fun plug
After added the media on the volume_1/Library, have you refresh the library under UPnP settings?

You need another brand TV set or another DLNA server.
Just to be with you - I can't get this D-Link to stream moives to my Sony Bravia either  ???
