Assign specific LAN IP/MAC to a specific WAN
« on: September 12, 2013, 05:00:58 PM »

I'm using the dual-WAN support in Round Robin mode.  One of my WANs is a Hughesnet GEN4 satellite link, which isn't good for certain things.  It's pretty clear (well, nothing in the DSR-500N documentation is exactly clear; I mean they don't even specify what the terms "dedicated WAN" and "configurable WAN" mean) how to lock a protocol to a particular WAN.  But I don't see a way to say "put all traffic from an IP address or range of IP addresses on a specific WAN".

The main reason I want to do this is to lock an ATT Microcell to the Dedicated WAN since it is unlikely to work correctly over the satellite.  I can't even quite figure out how to do this using protocol bindings since the DSR-500N doesn't really seem to have all the requisite protocols/ports.

Suggestions?

Let me add something.  On the surface it looks like I should be able to do this with Traffic Management.  However, although the help for Traffic Selector configuration explicitly says "Service: Select one of the services from the defined services, or to have this traffic selector apply to all traffic choose ANY." there is no ANY option.  So I seem unable to solve this problem with either Protocol Bindings or Traffic Management.

Link>Welcome!
  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Any information in the User Manual regarding this feature?
