P2P folder in mydlink
« on: December 30, 2012, 02:57:10 AM »

Hello
I got a 320L for Xmas. I have a question. How should I configure it to see P2P folder in mydlink.
On PC now I see it separetly from Volume_1.
The best would be if I see it as a subfolder in Volume_1
Thanks a lot in advance.

The DNS-320L automatically treats the P2P folder as a separate logical volume, and this unfortunately cannot be changed. The consequences of this structure results in the requirement to actually copy files from P2P to Volume_1 although both volumes reside on the same physical HDD.

Thanks. I understand it and no problem that P2P folder is a separate logical volume. But I think this volume should be visible as volume_1 in mydlink.
Is it firmware related or mydlink (webpage and apk) related?

It should be a mydlink issue.  I can see my P2P folder using third party app (FTP Client Pro) on my iPad.

its not done at a single folder level, you cant create any folder called "p2p" anywere by smb share, even if its deeply nested behind some other folder, if you try it will fail.
you can create a p2p folder by ftp but it will be invisible when accessing from smb shares.
this is really annoying as you cant just replicate a disk that contain a p2p folder with other files inside it.
